From Outdated to Modern: A Lutherville-Timonium Deck Transformation

Client Problem:

Our client came to us with a challenge they could not envision how to solve. They had an old, tired, worn out deck that they so desperately wanted to use, but was unsightly and potentially dangerous.

RMC Solution:

We worked with an architect, Idea-Architects.com to come up with a plan to make our client’s drab deck a place where they could relax and entertain guests year round even in the winter as the new deck has a built in hot tub.

The Build:

We completely tore down the old structure and started by installing new secure footings and framing from the ground up. The goal was to build it back better than it was previously and have lower maintenance.

The Materials:

We used a top grade pressure treated lumber for the robust framing required for this new build. A premium composite deck board, white fascia, and matching step risers coupled with a custom aluminum & cable style railing completed the new build. In-set low voltage matte black lights were installed to add an extra level of ambiance and safety. An under deck drainage system was installed to add dry storage below with a custom cedar screen and entry door which was formerly the front door to the residence and was repurposed.

Additional work:

We also updated the old and worn out garage doors with a new, fresh and modern look incorporating new door technology.

The Result:

We are proud of the project results! This project was transformed from an old and outdated backyard space to a new and inviting entertaining area where the owner and their family and friends can now spend countless hours enjoying the outdoors. Additionally, the new and spacious storage below was an added benefit for the seasonal accoutrements, deck furniture, pool accessories, and other items that can now be stored out of sight when not in use.

If you have a backyard you are desperate to transform into a functional and beautiful space you need RMC Builders. When it comes to your home, we want you to “Have a Home You Can Be Proud Of” now and well into the future.
